So Close to kargil

The Khardung La Road further leads to Kargil, the location of the recent spat between India and Pakistan...however the roads are now manned by the Indian Army and entry is restricted further...

some thumbnails...

Clicking on the following can lead you to the online album that is being maintained. All photos are stored there, only the landmark ones are displayed on this blog... feel free to browse them as well...

The Roof Of the World!!!

The Leh-Khardung La road is also known as the Roof Of the World, as it is the highest motorable road in the world, where the skies are the closest to a driver/rider and its a moment of glory...

Difficult Terrain but doable...

SnowCapped Himalayas in the backdrop,

A moment of Joy and pleasure for all at SK

Nimesh Motani set out to achieve something he always wanted to do from quite some time. But he did not forget all his colleagues and work-mates even in the hour of his Personal Joy. He went ahead and unfurled the SKY Industries Flag on Khardung La Pass, World's Highest motorable road. Truly as Mr. Mathew desired, the target that nimesh set out to achieve on this road-trip, has been achieved - the Royal Enfield Way!!!

Nimesh has set a precedent in personal adventurism and risk and this would be remembered for a long time to come by all Sk-ites. Truly an Apt example to follow by any one aspiring to overcome the daily routine activities and mundane tasks that we are used to.

The SK Group Of companies' Management has been deeply touched by this gesture and has officially announced the sponsorship of Mr. Nimesh Motani's entire road trip . Mr. Shailesh Shah expressed his well wishes to Mr. Nimesh Motani on his personal victory and has shown his willingness to commend these kind of NEWSMAKERS in our group.

Mr. Nitin Motani also took this opportunity to welcome all Sk-ites to take up challenges and prove themselves to all around that the spirits are high and take SK higher than the flag that has been unflured on Khardung La.

Mr. Sharad Shah and Mr. Saurabh Motani are also overjoyed that an Sk-Ite has accomplished something really noteworthy and encourage all to come forward in various walks of life.

Target Achieved!!!

Finally the goal is met, Nimesh and all his group reach the world's highest motor able path...

A much needed break

Nimesh with fellow bikers taking that little break...

Mind Blowing images

Well, i am not sure what this is, but nimesh would update on his return. however, the photo looks like a buddhist monastery.

On behalf of Nimesh, i thank all of you who have visited this blog and left messages, I would definately convey the popularity this site is started getting.

Keep comming back and you would be a part of the journey that nimesh has started off on.

Leave comments liberally, all this is going to be a wonderful gift for him when he comes back and goes thru all the comments...

Takeoff from Manali!

Nimesh reached Manali on monday evening and has reported fine.
"So far the experience is of a Honeymoon with the Roads" was what he mentioned "The next phase is going to be more rough roads and steep curves" he concluded. Would be out of mobile network area untill some hours untill he reaches Leh. Would be sending some snaps for the blog once he reaches Leh, where the signal strength is supposed to be better than what he has been witnessing last few days. Has made friends with some friends from Native Ahmedabad, four riders from aapli Mumbai, many more from various states, seems the entire group is sort of a mini national integration!!!

Today, he leaves manali for further uphill "Steep narrow hill roads over Rothang La to Kokhsar then a gradual stretch to Tandi/ Tupchiling" - as quoted on the Royal Enfield site.

Today i am nervous

To make the arrangements for riding gear.
I have yet to complete my shopping.
I am not sure that i will be fully ready on the 24th.
The most important thing is to get the permission for 15 days holidays from my boss.

Only 4 days to go...

24th June is the start date of this grand trip, to be flagged off by none other than Mr. Sunil Shetty, from the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium-New Delhi.

All prepared for the road trip, nimesh has already packed up a lot of stuff in his saddle bags and back-pack.

more later...
